Today she is a waiter at Musso & Frank, still waiting for her chance to get an academy award. Over the years Gina has has become ruthless in her ambitions, which has meant missing out on her daughter’s upbringing. She’s sharp witted, cynical and very uptight. She may come from Italian stock but she hasn’t got a clue what living in Italy is really about. But she has a huge heart beating somewhere beneath that protective shell of hers.

is Gina’s daughter. In many ways she’s the adult in the relationship, has had to be because of her mom putting her career before her. Gina told her that her father is a famous Korean director, the truth is that her father is actually a car park attendant at Musso & Frank, Gina trying to protect her daughter from disappointing her even more.

is Casa Moretti’s gatekeeper and Lake Garda’s resident Gigolo. He’s been working there as the home’s manager for over two decades. Gina’s late Nonna was like a mother to him. Luca epitomises La Dolce Vita (the sweet life). Over time he’ll open the uptight Gina’s eyes to what’s really important in life.
